Approaches to Mental Health Care
The first consultation:
The aim of the first few sessions (1-3) is to undertake a collaborative assessment of your presenting issues, and to understand your treatment needs. A decision can then be made based on a clinical formulation, about whether to proceed with treatment.
I have training and supervision in the following Therapy Models:

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
Mentalization Based Therapy (MBT) Currently Supervised by an MBT Accredited Supervisor MBTAA
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
Eye-Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) Accredited EMDR Therapist with EMDRAA
Training: Bachelor Psychology Hons UNSW; Master of Clinical Psychology MQU
I started my work experience and training as a case worker at The Langton Centre, a Drug and Alcohol Treatment Centre in Sydney, Eora Country where I first learned the importance of forming a Therapeutic alliance when supporting Clients on their Recovery Journeys.
During my training as a Clinical Psychologist I worked at a wide variety of hospital and clinic settings: Camperdown Mental Health Unit with Adults; Wesley Ashfield, Peter Beaumont Centre for Eating Disorders, Northern Sydney Child Protection Unit, and the Macquarie University Psychology Clinic.

For the last 15 years, I have worked in a range of Large Group Private Practices, and currently in my own Sole-Practitioner Psychology Practice. Alongside my private practice work, I work as a Clinical Psychologist at U-Space, a Youth Mental Health Service at St Vincent's Private Hospital Sydney.
My current training focus is Mentalization Based Therapy (MBT) which I see as growing in its contemporary relevance; to supporting people across the lifespan to cope with chronic emotional dysregulation, difficulties with stability in one's sense of self, and capacity for relating effectively to others.
I continue to participate in ongoing learning, training and supervision, and I am an active member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA). I am currently serving as the Events Chair and a Board Director of ACPA.
